Yes, A-COLD-WALL* and Converse are coming together for another spin on the Chuck Taylor sneaker, with Ross honoring the shoe in its classic state – just with a few ACW tweaks, of course.
Arriving in “Pavement” and “Silver Birch,” the A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Chuck 70 sneakers take on a distressed look, perhaps as a nod to the shoe’s 100th anniversary in 2022.
A stonewashed canvas upper joins a deliberately worn translucent toe box and sole on the A-COLD-WALL* Chuck Taylors, emulating the essence of the shoe in its century-old glory and The design philosophy of A-COLD-WALL*.
Along with the understated color palette, ACW’s ominous square block and industrial numbering on the shoe’s upper is a sure sign of A-COLD-WALL*’s minimalist, workwear-focused taste.
ACW and Converse chose to honor the Chuck 70’s OG look as part of Ross’ desire to reuse a DIY Chuck he created for the first ACW* collection.
But, like the 2020 tie-in, the partnership will – if you allow it – be rebooted once again for the Chuck 70 Geo Forma, which is essentially another Chuck 70 boot that’s set to drop before the end of the year.
For now, A-COLD-WALL* and Converse are giving the Chuck Taylors their well-deserved 100th anniversary congratulations — until they get the boot later this year (pun intended, because the Chucks are here). to stay).
