Acne Studios isn’t afraid to drop a bold shoe style – check out these patchwork boots or the Bolzter if you need a refresher. Now the Stockholm stalwart has released his new lace-up sneaker, pleading for distortion.

Available in ‘White/Off-White’ or ‘Black/Grey’, the pairs feature a suede upper split between two panel tones, making the contrasting layers appear to support the base piece. For example, the toe quarter stems from the sole and hooks into elongated eyelets that run along the center panel, while the tongue loosely covers the base.

Elsewhere, perforations are added to the center panel, while the oversized tongue has been adorned with cursive Acne Studios embroidery below the row of loaded laces. Things get more unusual as you step down the sneaker, where a raised heel tab sits atop a heel cap, guiding the eye to the sole.

Although it may look like cork, the sole is actually made of rubber and is lined with an outsole made up of small dots to add traction.
