While Salomon’s shoes have always been performance-oriented, recent silhouettes have become increasingly popular among fashionable casual wearers thanks to their sporty and clean look. Throughout 2022, the brand has already teamed up with several high-end names, so it’s no surprise we’re seeing yet another stylish collaboration. As a result, Bodega kept the French cobbler’s crossover versatility in mind when reimagining a pair of its X-Mission 4 Suedes.
The Boston-based streetwear store was looking to make a shoe that could tackle both city sidewalks and backcountry trails, and the draper pulled it off with flying colors — literally. This variation of Salomon’s elite trainer has been dubbed “Full Bleed” and features a tie-dye ripstop nylon upper, giving each pair a unique pattern all their own. Next, the fuzzy hue is accented with bright pops of yellow, pink, teal, and 3M detailing placed throughout the shoe.
Bodega tapped Harlem-based multidisciplinary artist Shaun Crawford for this joint effort, as his distinct portfolio includes everything from explosive oil paintings to past work for Goyard. Composition-wise, the shoe remains similar to before, as it sits on a cushioned midsole and all-terrain outsole, setting the stage for the perfect balance of athletic and laid-back. Admit it: if you haven’t fallen victim to the Salomon hype yet, you will now.
Versatile shoes aren’t necessarily hard to find among other brands, but Salomon’s mix of comfort and fashionable looks are hard to beat. The Bodega x Salomon X-Mission 4 Suede will be available on the former’s online store for $160 on July 29.
