A HOMELESS charity is appealing for donations of clothes, shoes and sleeping bags.

BHT Sussex needs men’s clothing, sleeping bags, jackets, trainers, underwear and socks to help those they support in Brighton and Hove.

The charity runs First Base, a resource center for homeless people in the city.

Guy Hayes, Chief Operating Officer of First Base, said: “Things like warm clothes and shoes make such a difference for people who are homeless, and we desperately need these items right now.

“Our services are in demand – last year we supported 524 people at First Base and we have seen a big increase in the number of people coming to the center in recent months.

“We would like to thank our generous local community for their continued support, which makes our work possible.”

Items can be dropped off at the First Base Day Center between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday at St Stephen’s Hall, Montpelier Place, Brighton, BN1 3BF, or BHT Head Office at 144 London Road, Brighton, BN1 4PH.

Alternatively, items can be purchased from her Amazon wishlist: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3LTFWUNPDR56J?ref_=wl_share
