Crocs have always generated mixed opinions, known as “those” rubber shoes (or flip flops). On the one hand, there are those who “wouldn’t be caught off guard with a pair” and those who, from the start, saw the comfort and unique way of self-expression through this shoe.

Whatever your point of view, there is no denying that the brand has made a name for itself.

In October, the iconic shoes that people love to hate will turn 20 years old and to celebrate, the company says lovers of these shoes can win one of tens of thousands of Crocs that will be raffled off through October 7th.

To participate in the “Croctober” contest, interested persons must become members of the Crocs Club here. There is no cost to participate. They also recommend checking their website for more details on the Crocodile 20th Anniversary Party on October 23.

Balenciaga teamed up with Crocs to create these heels for their Spring 2022 collection.

What you might not know about Crocs

Crocs are manufactured primarily in Mexico and Canada, although they are also contract manufactured in other countries.

Although some see Crocs as beach sandals, gardening shoes, or for any job that requires long standing, they are popular all over the world with endless possibilities. This includes a style of boot that a Mexican influencer made famous for $800. Generic Crocs range from $50 to $100.

Many exclusive styles are created through collaborations with designers around the world. For example, the company works with Balenciaga, a contemporary fashion company that put Crocs on a platform by turning “thongs” into a luxury item.

In fact, it’s thanks to these collaborations with influencers and designers that whenever Crocs goes out of fashion, they come back with some sort of reinvention. Of course, it helps that Gen Z is obsessed with 2000s fashion. While the secret to their success is multifaceted, it’s clearly no coincidence that these rubber sandals have been around for 20 years.
