Cuater The Ringer Golf Shoe Review
I have had the chance to test a lot of golf shoes over the last year and I can easily say Cuater Ringer shoes are one of the best shoes in golf. (opens in a new tab), and one of my favorites, on the market right now. A model worn by Jon Rahm (opens in a new tab) and Sam Burns (opens in a new tab) on the PGA Tour, the Ringers are indeed very comfortable thanks to the Sweet Spot cushioning system which is soft and springy as well as supportive. In the end, the fit is snug, the interior is very soft, and I also really liked the cushioning. When I first put my foot in the shoe, I knew immediately that I wasn’t going to have any issues with uncomfortable chafing or blistering, and the fit was secure from heel to toe.
I had actually had plantar fasciitis issues (opens in a new tab) recently, which has sometimes made it difficult to walk, which makes testing golf shoes particularly tricky. But these shoes cushioned my feet really well, especially towards the arch and heel of my feet, so if you’re experiencing pain in those areas, I can’t recommend these shoes highly enough.
I love the look of the shoes. From almost any angle, they give off a truly modern, trainer-like aesthetic without being over the top. The athletic design is really simple and it doesn’t flaunt the flash that a lot of casual style golf shoes (opens in a new tab) do. Also, Cuater didn’t feel the need to stick his name everywhere either, which is one of my big bug-bears. Instead, there’s just a small logo towards the heel of the shoe in the shape of a triangle. The shoes are available in white, navy and black and all three look great, while the style of the shoe works just as well with shorts as it does with pants.
My tests (opens in a new tab) also revealed the quality of the stability and grip offered. Thanks to the changeable weather conditions in the UK, I was able to test these aspects in dry and wet conditions and the shoes performed well. When I swing my feet I tend to move a lot so I need my shoes to lock in to the touch and not allow me to slip and this has never happened once even in harsh conditions wetter and more slippery. The shoes feature Softspikes Pivix cleats that lock into the grass, as does the sole design in the form of Cuater’s triangular logos.
Of course, any modern golf shoe should also be waterproof, and the Ringers are thanks to the outsole material.
In testing, the only aspect of the shoe that I think can be improved is the breathability. According to Cuater, the inner parts of the shoe (black) and the upper part of the outsole are made from a breathable mesh designed to prevent the feet from feeling overheated. But also comfortable (opens in a new tab) as the shoes are, i thought the breathability was a bit lacking and my feet were quite warm towards the end of the ride.
I also felt like the mesh parts of the shoe were a little harder to clean than the other parts but you could probably say that about a lot of golf shoes so that was just one little thought from me.
All in all, this is a premium offering that will be a firm favorite with many golfers and a worthy competitor to the best spike golf shoes. (opens in a new tab) the low. The shoes look great in all three colors, the comfort is unmatched, and the stability is as strong as it needs to be. In terms of price, they are at the higher end of the spectrum, but we think overall the shoes are worth it because of the performance on offer. Traditionalists might want to opt for the Cuater Legend Golf Shoe (opens in a new tab) but for those who want a more modern design, the Ringer is definitely a model to consider.
