Gayle King took a clean approach to dressing for the US Open – with colorful kicks to match.
Arriving at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center for the tennis tournament on Sunday, the “CBS Mornings” co-host wore a white midi dress. Her zip number featured a knee-length front slit for ventilation, as well as puff sleeves, a cinched waist and a deep neckline. King accessorized with a Telfar round clutch stamped with a “T”, as well as a silver pendant necklace, thin chains and cord bracelets on both wrists and a thick blue and silver cuff bracelet.
For footwear, King went for a pop of color with lightweight, colorful Chloé sneakers that have proven to be ultra-durable. The star’s $795 Nama Stitch style featured chunky textured white and black soles with stitched pink, blue, red, yellow and green fabric uppers – all created with 40% recycled materials, including recycled microsuede, thermoplastic elastomer, rubber powder and polyester made from plastic bottles. The set was completed with pink woven laces
“It was one of the first projects we launched in the company, when I arrived (at Chloé),” said designer Gabriela Hearst. FN when the shoe launches Spring 2022 in February. “When you have a big company, a luxury brand, there are always these volume drivers. You have to change the volume drivers to reduce the impact as soon as possible. The nice skirt, the merino turtleneck, all of that is less voluminous. But with the things that you make tens of thousands of, you first reduce these (products).
