Regen®, the country’s first eco-friendly recycled fiber, was made into sneakers by recycling PET bottles.
On July 15, Hyosung TNC announced that it had produced one thousand pairs of sneakers made in
cooperation with Muji and LAR.
These sneakers are the result of a project carried out to introduce personalized products for green consumers (consumers adopting environmentally friendly consumption patterns) with the participation of leading companies specializing in ecological fiber (Hyosung TNC), the eco-friendly lifestyle (Muji), and eco-responsible footwear (LAR), leveraging each of their strengths.
The Regen sneakers were made with 16,000 PET bottles collected from Muji and LAR stores. To make one pair of sneakers, you need Regen (which is an eco-friendly fiber made by Hyosung TNC) equivalent to seven 500ml PET bottles.
The Regen sneakers are on sale at Muji pop-up store at Lotte World Mall and LAR online/offline stores, starting July 15.
Commenting on this, Hyosung TNC President Kim Chi-hyung said, “We expect more to come from Regen sneakers. With this product made in collaboration with companies representing eco-friendly fashion, this opportunity is the opportunity to further propel the eco-conscious movement. We intend to provide valuable eco-friendly products through cooperation with various companies.″
