Editor’s notes: I don’t know about everyone, but I’m ready for fall. And from the seasonal New Balance 997H looks above, the same goes for J.Crew and New Balance.

New Balance is once again turning to J.Crew to exclusively host their New Balance 997H “Dove/Navy/Highlight”, which is up for grabs now on J.Crew’s online store.

The J.Crew x New Balance 997H features the model’s usual suede and mesh construction on the upper, dressed in a transitional weather-worthy color scheme.

J.Crew’s New Balance 997H – a contemporary twist on the 1990s OG 997 – features mostly neutral hues. As you can see from the top, shades of light beige, khaki and cedar take over the shoe, from the mesh ankle to the rubber outsole.

On the other hand, bright orange and highlighter yellow tastefully offset J.Crew’s 997H, evident on the shoe’s oversized “N” logo and toe box.

J.Crew has never been shy about using a lively palette, often infusing its accessible American uniforms with bright hues and prints here and there.

Take for example the brand’s New Balance 992 “NY”. The 2021 colorway paid homage to the Big Apple’s outdoor landscape. However, the sneaker could also have quickly passed the vibe test for a collaboration with the New York Giants.

Then there were the rich teal 997Hs. I also can’t forget when J.Crew got a little wild on us with their animal print 997Hs. *Note, looks like someone is a 997H fan.

The New Balance 997H Dove/Navy/Highlight by J.Crew certainly sets the mood for the upcoming season. After all, it’s straight out of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 lookbook, helmed by new menswear creative director Brendon Babenzien.

The New Balance 997H Dove/Navy/Highlight fits right into the sea of FW22 offerings, which range from classic collegiate knits to loud Fair Isle vests.

In short, the J.Crew x New Balance 997H “Dove/Navy/Highlight” proves there’s nothing wrong with a few pops of color for fall.

I mean, why should summer have all the vibrant fun?
