Throughout its history, Jordan Brand has dedicated time and resources to improving communities that would otherwise be deprived of education, employment opportunities and other things. In 2021, Michel Jordan’s eponymous label partnered with the National Football League (NFL) to offer six young people from the Fuel up to play 60 program an opportunity to design their own Air Jordan 36 alongside three NFL athletes sponsored by Jordan Brand.
Davante Adams, Stephon Gilmore and Cameron Jordan met with two kids each over the course of a few months to imagine and design shoes via Zoom. The final products will be worn by athletes throughout 2022. While this was the first initiative with the NFL, Jordan Brand has already given children the opportunity to design their own Air Jordan through the Jordan Wings program. The six Fuel Up To Play 60 entrants are therefore the first to reinvent the #23 brand’s footwear outside of the chosen Wings Scholars, expanding the audience that designers and other brand personnel can mentor and provide insight into. .
Enjoy some images of upcoming sneakers and designers, and expect Jordan Brand-sponsored athletes to rock pairs all year long.
