You can store them in boxes away from people or keep them in a cabinet that you can walk into and look at your collection. You could even put them on display, showing the world how great your feet look even when the shoes aren’t currently on them.
If you find yourself in this rear category, or maybe even interested after reading this line, LG might just have a device for you, as it announces a dedicated shoe cleaner with a shoe highlighting furniture with a rather apt name.
One of the many things LG is launching at IFA 2022 this year, the LG Styler ShoeCare and ShoeCase are connected devices much the same way a washing machine and dryer are connected, and the One of them even performs a similar function, although they’re not made for most clothes like a washer and dryer. On the contrary, the LG ShoeCare and ShoeCase are entirely designed for shoes, as their name suggests.
The devices are two separate units, with the ShoeCare offering a locker-style design incorporating steam technology and moving nozzles to use steam to refresh footwear of multiple material types, covering leather, suede and sports fabrics. LG offers to clean up to four pairs of shoes in a standard 37-minute cycle, supporting up to 10 cycles and capable of cleaning shoes with two types of materials at once.
Going by the description, the idea sounds like something Samsung debuted a few years ago that let you steam clean clothes in your home using a device designed almost like a home cleaning service. compact dryer for your room. LG already uses steam technology in its washing machines, so it seems to be an adaptation of the one made for shoes.
This takes care of cleaning, but if you want to show off the shoes, LG has a showcase named “ShoeCase”. It’s basically a shoe rack where each shoe box is protected by clear panels and exposed, and able to rotate on a 360 degree turntable.
The design is modular and appears to cover three shoeboxes in a row, although LG says four ShoeCase shelves can be stacked on top of each other, storing and displaying 12 pairs of shoes, almost like a stack. it was about art.
While they can connect to the LG Styler ShoeCare, we didn’t hear if the ShoeCase cleans shoes at all.
Instead, it seems to be there more as an aside, with the two connecting in design, but less in function. LG says its ThinQ app – which also works on TVs and other devices – will let you monitor both the ShoeCase and ShoeCare remotely, but hasn’t quite said what the app will do.
And there’s no word on pricing or availability in Australia either, entirely in line with other announcements made at IFA this week. However, if you’re someone with a large collection of fancy sneakers and the like, and aren’t afraid to spend the money to keep them clean or on display, we think you might not care. how much it costs if or when the LG ShoeCare launches locally.
