Porsche Design is the lifestyle label of the German car brand which regularly offers an outstanding collection of products designed for the discerning and stylish. As part of its 50th anniversary capsule collection, here comes the 50Y RCT PWRPplate – a sleek and stylish pair of trainers.
In 2006, the company signed an agreement with another German sportswear manufacturer, Adidas. The partnership lasted for some time until Puma replaced its compatriot. Therefore, the 50Y RCT PWRPlate is another collaborative production.
To keep the silhouette visually sober, Porsche Design opts for two colors: Jet Black/Platinum Gray and Platinum Grey/Jet Black. Normally, most of us would choose the blackout color combo in a heartbeat. However, we think the Grey/Jet Black option is the more attractive of the two.
At first glance you can already tell that these pairs of kicks are not just about beauty. The evoKNIT upper offers a comfortable and breathable fit, while the checkered flag pattern evokes a motorsport vibe. The 50Y RCT PWRPlate recalls its exclusivity with the Porsche Design 50 label on the tongue.
In addition, the lace cage applied just above the toe box also indicates that it is “One of 911” which designates the number of copies available. On the medial side of the midfoot is a carbon fiber panel with Porsche Design script. The 50Y RCT PWRPplate also features the Puma logo on the heel tab and on the insole.
The last place you can see the leaping cat emblem is on the outsole and it’s in red. The composite insert of its PWRPlate midsole can also be seen here. The 50Y RCT PWRPlate also comes in a special 50Y Porsche Design gift box.
