Lululemon Blissfeel Women’s Running Shoe
Lululemon released these sneakers last week. These are the brand’s first foray into the footwear category and have been designed specifically for women – by an all-female team. This is the first of four shoe styles the brand will release in 2022, and it comes in several fun colors that are suitable for virtually any workout or run. They accommodate the shape of your feet with the wider forefoot and narrower heel and also help soften impact and minimize chest movement when your feet hit the ground, according to the brand.

Hylete Circuit II Cross Training Shoe
This training shoe is customizable, which means you can swap out the insoles and go from one type of training to another, while wearing the same shoe. It includes three different insoles – one for training, one for running and one for lifting – and comes in three different colors.

Asics Gel-Kayano 28 Running Shoes
For anyone who does a lot of cardio or workouts that include a lot of jumping, Women’s Health says these sneakers are a winner. A Women’s Health editor said the shoes, recommended to her by her podiatrist, saved her from shin splints while teaching group cardio dance classes. She found that they not only absorbed shock, but also helped protect her feet.
Best outdoor/trail sneaker
Chaco Ramble Puff Linear
The sluffer shoe trend continues with this choice for the outdoors. They’re as stylish as your favorite down jacket (and are water resistant), but have a soft, snug fit that makes them perfect for camping trips, hiking trails, or backpacking. The outer buckle is also adjustable, allowing you to ensure a tighter fit, if needed.
Best Walking/Active Living Shoe
Reebok Classic Leather Shoes
Everyone needs a simple pair of white sneakers in their wardrobe. This retro-inspired pair looks clean and polished, and Women’s Health editors say they feel great as soon as you put them on. Reebok’s classic trainers are easy to dress up or wear (and did we mention, super stylish?) and are ready for just about anything the day throws at you. You can walk for miles with it, making it a great shoe for commuters. The comfortable sole (which Plosser says resembles an orthopedic insert) also makes it ideal for low-impact workouts.
Best Specialty Sneaker
Ollie Gray Maternity OG Maternity Sneakers
These sneakers are designed for pregnant and/or postpartum women, but Plosser says you definitely don’t have to be a new mom or mom-to-be to love them. Standout features include the stretchy knit outer (which allows feet to change size or swell) and the slip-on heel that makes them easy to slip on and off.
