We’re officially approaching the end of summer – aka “Satan’s Front Porch” in New York – and since I’m basically counting down the days until fall, I’ve already started turning my attention to styles of cooler weather. Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating and a string of 90+ degree heat days continues to plague the city. So when I found the Roller sandals from Spanish brand Alohas, I was excited because they seemed like the perfect transitional shoe for late summer and early fall.
The vegan leather fisherman style sandals feature a sturdy 3.5 inch block heel and a slight platform, two things that tend to make heels more comfortable and wearable for me. The style is inspired by “those jelly beach sandals you wore as a kid,” the site reads, which they definitely conjure up for me — but, you know, more chic and less plastic.

I love how they’re styled on the Alohas website, with slightly cropped wide leg jeans; but I could also see them working well with a casual dress, midi skirt, or even a tailored pair of shorts. I haven’t taken the plunge yet and haven’t bought them yet, but considering they’re currently on sale through the brand’s pre-order discount model, that’s likely to change very soon.
