Boston, MA-based sportswear juggernaut New Balance has decided to expand its iconic 990 shoe line by introducing the 990V6 model. The silhouette will debut in a gray colorway.
The 990V6 is the sixth silhouette in the 990 line and follows the 990V5 released in 2019, the 990v4 released in 2016, the 990v3 released in 2012, the 990V2 released in 1998 and the first 990 released in 1982.
The silhouette’s latest Gray colorway will launch via the official e-commerce site of New Balance and select retailers on November 4, 2022. The shoes will be available exclusively in men’s sizes for a retail price of $199.99.

The New Balance 990 is arguably the label’s most iconic line and its latest iteration, the 990 V6, arrives in November. The official website talks about the history chronicle of the 990 signature line as follows:
“The original designers of the 990 were tasked with creating the best running shoe on the market. The finished product lived up to its bill. When it first hit shelves in 1982, the 990 sported a stylishly understated gray colorway and a then-unprecedented triple-digit price.For avid racers and curve-forwarders, the 990 was a mark of superior quality and taste.
The New Balance label is known for its minimalist gray colourway, which is also what will be featured in the next silhouette teased by the label for over a year now.
In the 40 years since its debut, the 990 line has seen a variety of looks, and the upcoming V6 silhouette runs with the styling success. The silhouette takes a modern approach as the upper is constructed from a mix of nubuck, mesh and suede materials. Most of the upper is clad in tonal shades of Grey.

The official website presents the 990v6 model as follows:

The Light Gray hue composes the eyelets and mudguards, while the contrasting Dark Gray is added on the perforated suede midfoot and toe panels. The look features flat white laces and “New Balance 990V6” lettering appears on the brand’s tongue tag.

The midfoot features the iconic “N” logo, while “NB MADE IN USA” and “990” engravings are added to the heel tabs and heel overlays, respectively.
The shoe’s midsoles are made from FuelCell foam materials, which combine ENCAP technology and ABZORB cushioning. The look is completed with Black and Gray rubber outsoles.
The silhouette falls under NB’s ‘Made’ signature line and contains a domestic value of over 70% or more. The NB 990v6 Gray shoes will launch via New Balance and select retailers on November 4, 2022, retailing for $199.99.
