Adidas recently released their brand new Grand Slam sneakers. The sportswear giant has a rich tennis history, which will be showcased with the latest shoes, justifying its name as the retro revival edition.

Over the years, Adidas has entered into numerous partnerships with iconic tennis players, including Robert Haillet, Stan Smith, Rod Laver and Ilie Theodoriu Năstase, and introduced many limited edition pairs.

Subsequently, the brand also released several co-signed sneakers. Plus, adidas’ iconic Grand Slam edition reflects their 40 years of experience in the game.

Everything about Adidas Grand Slam, where to buy, price and more

The edition, which was first released in 1984 as the label’s first tennis sneaker, is now back in a traditional tennis colourway, “White/Green/Off White”.

Priced at US$136.15, the pair is crafted from leather and suede. For all collectors and tennis fans, the sneakers will be available on the 43einhalb website from March 1st.

In order to preserve the originality of the Grand Slam, the shoes have an authentic “GS” logo in red color, stitched on the central side panel.

Additionally, the brand’s signature Trefoils branding appears on the tongue, alongside Adidas script on the midsole and on the heels. The upper is leather and synthetic, and the sole is rubber. The overall shape and design of the pair seemed exceptionally perfect, prompting the back-to-toe shoes, which were released in 1984.

Most noticeably, the shoe is built with its exclusive Vario Shock-Absorption System technology. The system uses a set of three variable-density pegs in the rear part of the midsole, which can be modified by the wearer to absorb shock when needed.

The limited-edition style is finished with unique green, white and orange button detailing, prominently displayed on the outsole. The three buttons on the outside have the Adidas Trefoil engraved on them.

With the latest sneakers, the brand references both its tennis heritage and the culture of the terrace, which encompasses casual sneakers like these. An argyle plaid print in green, white and orange colors is placed inside the shoe to make it look more stylish. The brand presents the perfect blend of tennis with contemporary fashion.
