German sportswear brand Adidas renews partnership with longtime collaborator South Park for a re-release of the Campus 80 sneakers. The duo are re-releasing their Towelie colorways of the Campus 80 sneakers launching in 2021 on the official Adidas e-commerce site and at select retailers on October 6, 2022.
The collaborative Towelie sneakers were first released in April 2021 in reference to the popular cannabis party, 420. They ended up getting a lot of attention and were in high demand. Hoping for the same to happen again, the duo will be reviving the silhouette in a Chalk Purple colorway.

As the fall season begins, the German sportswear giant is re-releasing and expanding its restocking efforts to provide brand enthusiasts with some of their favorite pieces. With the reissue of the original South Park collaboration, the brand is bringing back sneakers that would have been considered the best 4/20 themed sneakers of 2021.
The sneakers’ relaunch is planned as part of the label’s adiClub members’ week. The pair maintains the original sneaker ethos with smart, casual details, and the official site showcases the shoe’s collaborative relaunch and states:
“South Park and Adidas have joined forces to celebrate 4/20 in 2021 with the release of the adidas Campus 80s South Park Towelie. This release references Towelie, a lab-made, cannabis-consuming towel character who has appeared in more than a dozen episodes and three South Park games.”

The upcoming Campus 80S Towelie Trainers will come dressed in a Chalk Purple/Cloud White color scheme. The pair stays true to the originally released Towelie trainers with a towel-like fabric upper.
A Chalk Purple hue makes up most of the upper with a hint of Cloud White for two-tone color blocking. The official website presents the shoe as follows:
“Don’t forget to bring a towel. Hard to do when you have Towelie on your feet. In the shape of the famous adidas Campus shoes, that is. Plus it’s written on the tongue. Come in in the sun and the eyes turn red.A small hook-and-loop pocket on the inside of the tongue allows you to store everything you might put in there.
The shoe features multiple 4/20 references, including hidden storage pockets and towel eyes affixed to the tongue. The towel eyes are photochromatic and the eyes will turn from white to red if UV light falls on them. The Chalk Purple tonal hue contrasts with Cloud White on the three stripes, heel tabs and branding to the tongue and heel.
The inside of the tab reads “Remember to bring a towel” and “I have no idea what’s going on”. More co-branding details have been affixed to the insoles. Various themed details such as a special edition personalized shoebox, Towelie key ring and iconic Towelie phrases complete the look.
