South Park is one of the most NSFW television shows in small screen history. Its open-arms approach to drug use and its characters’ love of cannabis have been recurring themes throughout its 25 (so far) series: In one episode, OG character Randy Marsh, becomes a weed grower, while in another, a KFC joint is turned into a medical marijuana dispensary.
In April of last year, Adidas released a shoe that paid homage to the show. Produced in collaboration with South ParkThe creators of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the German brand have reworked a pair of Campus 80s to look like Towelie who walks, talks and abuses substances. The shoes came with a lavender upper covered in French terry cloth that had artwork of eyes on the tongue, which when exposed to UV light turn pink and bloodshot.
After that first sneaker release, which sold out in an instant, Adidas and South Park came together again to design a new series of sneakers. The six new models, which will be released this Monday, are inspired by the series’ most beloved characters and we received an exclusive first look.
The ’80s basketball-inspired silhouette, the Forum Low, features classic leather and playful colors inspired by protagonist Cartman’s outfit, while an NMD_R1 V2 comes in a colorway reflecting the super alter ego. -villain of Butters, Professor Chaos. The limited-edition turquoise silhouette features silver foil detailing – a first for Adidas sneakers – and hemp green accents.
